The Tipton & Coseley Building Society have recently donated £700 to Beacon Hill Academy. This donation will support their student’s well-being and social and emotional needs, with a new accessible garden and Autism (AS) Base Therapy Dog.

Beacon Hill Academy have an AS Base provision at their secondary school in Sedgley. This provides a safe, inclusive environment for learners who access mainstream education, in addition to specially targeted interventions to enable learners to realise their full potential. Their staff work to ensure their secondary education journey is positive, engaging and an empowering experience for them.

To support the students, Beacon Hill Academy have been fundraising to make their garden accessible and to fund an AS Base therapy dog along with relevant training. Therapy dogs are beneficial for young people with autism in ways such as grounding them during heightened periods and developing communication and social skills.

Kerry at Beacon Hill Academy said "We can’t thank Tipton & Coseley Building Society enough for their kind and generous donation. This donation really helps to move our project along in creating a safe and inclusive space for our students and we are thankful for the kind support the Tipton have given.’’

Emma Gibbons, our senior marketing & product administrator at Tipton & Coseley Building Society said "We are so pleased to make this donation to Beacon Hill Academy, with the positive difference and impact this will make to the students. It is great to support a local school and make a difference to our community.’’
