The fixed rate below applies from 28 January 2025 :

£1,000.00 plus - 4% gross / AER fixed until 28 February 2030.

The interest rate is dependent on the term of the fixed rate. Interest is calculated daily and paid annually on the anniversary of the date you opened the account and at maturity (on 28 February 2030).

The balance at the end of the fixed rate term based on a deposit of £1,000.00 with an interest rate of 4% gross / AER (fixed) would be £1,221.03.

  • the account is opened on 28 January 2025; 
  • there are no additional deposits or withdrawals made; 
  • interest is paid gross and added to the account annually on the anniversary of the date you opened the account and at maturity (on 28 February 2030); and
  • there is no change to the interest rate.

You can open a savings account at any of our branches without an appointment or, through the post by sending us a completed application form with a cheque payable to yourself for your initial deposit. Application forms can be posted to you on request, collected in branch, or printed from our website. To view our acceptable identification, please click here.

The account is available for anyone aged 16 or over. Joint accounts can be opened.

The minimum amount to open this account is £1,000.00. The maximum amount that can be held in this account is £250,000.00. Opening balances made by electronic payment must be sent within 14 days of opening your account, or the account will be automatically closed. 

You can add money to your account within 14 days from opening. After this, you cannot add money to your account until 1 March 2030. 

You can view your balance and recent transactions on the Tipton App, available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

No withdrawals, including closure of the account and withdrawal of any interest, are allowed until after maturity on 28 February 2030. 

We will contact you at least 14 days before 28 February 2030 to give your options for maturity. If we don't hear back from you before 28 February 2030, we will automatically rollover your account to another one in our range, which could include another fixed rate account. If you choose any other option, this will be processed on the next working day after 28 February 2030. 

Please be aware, for all fixed rate bond accounts held in joint names, both account holders are required to sign for any future maturity declarations.
