Tipton & Coseley Building Society collects donations for Black Country Food Bank

Tipton & Coseley Building Society is supporting Black Country Food Bank for the second year running by asking for food and toiletry donations from customers and staff.

Last year hundreds of items were collected by the Society as part of its ‘reverse advent’ appeal which is being repeated this year.

A reverse advent appeal is where people donate items over the advent period with the goods then donated to charity.

The Society is requesting customers and local people donate items at one of our branches in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley or Bilston. The items will then be delivered to the food bank and made available to families across the Black Country.

Founded in 2006, the Black Country Food Bank was set up to help families experiencing financial hardship with basic food and toiletry supplies. The food bank serves people across the four boroughs of the Black Country.

Amy Fellows, Branches Manager at Tipton & Coseley Building Society said:

‘We want to support Black Country Food Bank as much as possible. No one should have to go hungry or be without basic toiletries, especially during the winter, so we’re hoping to collect as many items as possible to help people in real need. We’re appealing for canned and packet goods, condiments, biscuits and toiletries, but would kindly request people do not donate Christmas-specific food items’
